Overview:

The Firefighter Appreciation Challenge is designed to be an enjoyable, challenging day for all involved.  The day is meant to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Parking:

Parking is available on site at the Milton Fair for approximately $5. Otherwise you are welcome to find parking in the surrounding neighbourhood.

Registration:

Registration will occur at the Reebok CrossFit FirePower (RCFP) tent in front of the GrandStands. Enter through the front gate of the fairgrounds. Each participant will have their name on a list at the front gate and admission to the fair will be comp'd. Then proceed to the RCFP tent to check in with an FFAD Volunteer.

Bunker Gear:

Every participant will be wearing bunker gear for each event including pants and jacket.  Bunker gear will be available for pick up at RCFP (705 Nipissing Road, Milton, ON) from Friday, September 27th (12pm to 3pm) or Saturday, September 28th from 9:30am - 1:00pm.

You can also bring your own gear if you have it.  Air packs will be given out at the start of each heat.

Clothing:

The gear can become very hot.  Prepare to wear thin breathable clothing.  You will also want to bring a change of clothing as the bunker gear tends to trap heat and moisture.

Footwear:

You will wear your own running shoes or work boots. If the forecast calls for rain, bringing additional clothing & footwear may be in your best interest.

Gloves:

We recommend you bring a pair of leather gloves which may be helpful for some of the events.  All events can be completed without gloves but if you want to bring them they will be allowed. They will not be provided on-site.

PLEASE REMOVE all jewelry including: necklaces, earrings and rings before arriving.

Weather:

The event takes place rain or shine. Events will only be cancelled or changed if there is lightening or the conditions are deemed unsafe.  Please prepare accordingly.

Challenges:

There will be three different Challenges.  Not all challenges will be released ahead of time.  Look to Reebok CrossFit FirePower's FaceBook page for a sneak peak at some of the events. Event rules and all details and questions will be conducted in the briefing prior to each event. The timeline for the day is very tight.  Heats will go on schedule.  Please review which heat you are in for each event and be prepared to move to the staging area when your Heat is called.

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome to the event.  Regular Fall Fair admissions rates will apply. There are lots of activities and events to see & do for all ages throughout the day. Food & beverages are available to be purchased throughout the fair as well.

To support the environment, all participants and volunteers are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle. Don’t forget to label it AND take it home.
